Apartment Clearance in Zurich
Emptying a whole apartment is a different job from clearing a single room — every space needs to be gone through, from bedrooms and living areas to the kitchen, bathroom and often a cellar compartment in the basement. We clear entire apartments across Zurich in one coordinated visit, whether it's for a move, a downsizing, an end-of-tenancy handover or clearing a family property.
Everything is removed room by room until the flat is empty and ready to hand back or hand over. As with every job, the price is agreed as a fixed amount before we start, based on the size of the apartment and what needs to come out.

What's included
Apartment clearance covers the full contents of the flat, room by room. Many Swiss apartments also come with a separate cellar compartment in the building's basement. If that needs clearing too, it's included in the same visit rather than booked separately through Basement Clearance.
• Bedrooms: wardrobes, beds, bedside tables and chests of drawers
• Living and dining areas: sofas, tables, chairs, shelving and TV units
• Kitchen and bathroom: freestanding furniture, small appliances and general storage
• Cellar compartment: boxes, tools and belongings stored in the basement, if applicable
Why a full apartment needs one coordinated clearance
Clearing an apartment room by room through separate bookings usually takes longer and costs more than treating it as a single job. Here's why one visit works better:
Every room in one visit
Bedrooms, living areas, and storage are cleared together rather than scheduled separately. This keeps the entire clearance organised and avoids delays between different bookings.
The kitchen is included, not separate
Freestanding kitchen furniture and small appliances are covered here, though a full renovation-style strip-out of fitted cabinets falls under Kitchen Items Disposal instead. This makes it easier to clear the kitchen alongside the rest of your apartment in one coordinated visit.
One fixed price for the whole flat
Rather than several quotes for several rooms, you get a single price covering everything agreed upfront. This makes budgeting simpler and helps you avoid unexpected costs from separate clearance bookings.
How it works
1. Tell us the apartment size and roughly what's inside — we give you a fixed price.
2. Book a date that fits your move-out or handover schedule.
3. Our team clears every room, including the cellar compartment if needed.
4. Everything is transported to the appropriate recycling or disposal point.

End of tenancy and handover timing
Apartment clearances often coincide with a tenancy ending, a landlord handover or a property sale. Booking close to the required date keeps your apartment usable for longer while allowing time for unexpected issues. Commercial spaces, such as offices or shops, are better handled through our Office Clearance or Shop Clearance services.
What's being kept vs what's being cleared
Not every apartment clearance requires completely emptying the flat, as some furniture may stay for the next tenant or family members. Items such as old TVs, computers and other electronics may require Electronic Waste Disposal. Clearly marking what stays and what goes before our arrival helps prevent accidental removal.
Clearing an inherited or family property
A good number of full apartment clearances happen after losing a family member, rather than as part of a planned move. It's rarely a simple job emotionally, even when the practical side is straightforward. We treat these visits the same way as any other clearance in terms of care and pace, but we're used to working around a family going through the contents first, setting aside anything to keep before the rest is cleared. There's no need to have everything sorted before booking — a rough idea of the timeline is enough to get started, and the pace of the visit itself can be adjusted if needed.
